Peptide salt forms and counter-ions
Material names should distinguish the exact form relevant to the specification.

Material names should distinguish the exact form relevant to the specification.
Common names need context
Two offers can use the same peptide name while describing different salt or counter-ion forms. A requested acetate form, for example, should be stated explicitly in the technical brief rather than inferred from an earlier source table. Keep the agreed form visible in the quotation and batch documentation.
Clarify the specification basis
Ask which composition or counter-ion attributes matter for the intended research or process. Define whether a change in form would be acceptable and how it would be reviewed. The supplier should not silently substitute a related form because the short catalog name looks similar.
Review checklist
- Exact material form
- Counter-ion preference or constraint
- Composition attributes to be measured
- Acceptable substitutions, if any
- Label and report naming convention
Include this in your enquiry
Send the precise material or project identity, target amount and destination, together with the questions in this checklist. State which requirements are fixed and which need technical review. The team can then confirm the relevant document or development scope. Keep the agreed requirements with the quotation and project reference.
