Mass spectrometry in material identity review
An identity question should be connected to the exact peptide form and the sample tested.

An identity question should be connected to the exact peptide form and the sample tested.
Define the expected material
Provide the sequence or structure, terminal groups and modifications that describe the intended material. A mass result should be reviewed against that identity and the method used. Closely related names, salts or labeled forms should not be treated as interchangeable simply because a catalog title is similar.
Combine evidence appropriately
The project may need more than one analytical attribute to establish acceptance. Agree how identity, purity and other relevant results will be interpreted together. If a result differs from the expectation, request the technical review before relying on the material in the research workflow.
Review checklist
- Sequence or structure being assessed
- Terminal groups and modifications
- Sample preparation and method scope in the report
- Expected result and interpretation
- Relationship to other release attributes
Include this in your enquiry
Send the precise material or project identity, target amount and destination, together with the questions in this checklist. State which requirements are fixed and which need technical review. The team can then confirm the relevant document or development scope. Keep the agreed requirements with the quotation and project reference.

For a regulatory specification context, see ICH Q6B. Its formal scope should be assessed for the actual program; it is not a claim that every catalog material is regulated under that guideline.
